The device services currently covered in this document are Voice-over-Wi-Fi (VoWiFi), Voice-over-Cellular (VoLTE + VoNR), SMS over IP (SMSoIP), On-Device Service Activation (ODSA) of eSIM devices (Primary, Companion and\/or Enterprise), Direct Carrier Billing, Private User Identity (IMSI encryption for WiFi access) and Phone Number Acquisition.<\/p>\n<p>The specification leverages the protocol and document presentation described in GSMA PRD RCC.14. In this context, the term \u201centitlement\u201d refers to the applicability, availability and status of that service (or feature) on a device.<\/p>\n<p>The entitlement configuration is exchanged between a client (APP implementing any of the services above) on a device and a Service Provider\u2019s Entitlement Configuration Server. Entitlement configuration defines a mechanism for a Service Provider to inform mobile devices of the status of IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) network services like VoWiFi, VoLTE and SMSoIP, and in the eSIM ODSA context it defines the interaction between an ODSA client, a client application on a device that entitles and activates a companion device\u2019s subscription, and the Service Provider.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This document describes the procedure for configuration of a device-based service performed during the entitlement verification step of the service or during the activation of that service.
